| Paris native Pauline Young, 96, of
Port Huron, Michigan, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2014. A memorial service is planned at 10 a.m. Friday at Smith Family Funeral Home-North in Port Huron. The Rev. Tom Seppo will officiate. Visitation will be an hour before the service. Born Aug. 20, 1917, in Paris, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Bernice Mathis. She was married Dec. 12, 1942 in Marion, Ark., to LeRoy S. Young, who died June 28, 1992. Young was retired from the U.S. Army. She leaves three daughters: Martha (Tim) Shea of St. Clair, Mich., Linda (Mike) Dussault of Coral Springs, Fla., and Nancy (Don) Gardner of Lakeport, Mich.; one son: James (Debbie) Young of Port Huron; Four grandchildren: Renee Schroeder, Diane Collier, Jill Knowles and Dakota Dussault, who is in the U.S. Marine Corps; two great-grandchildren: Austin Knowles and Adam Collier; a brother: Bill Mathis of Santa Anna, Calif., retired from the USMC; and several nieces and nephews. A sister, Martha Jackson, also preceded her in death. Memorials may be made to First Congregational Church, Port Huron. |
