Paris resident Mattie Caldwell Kendall Thrall, 95, of Sebastian, Fla., died
Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Sebastian Medical Center. The body was cremated. A memorial service is planned later, with burial in Sulphur Well Church of Christ Cemetery in Henry County. McEvoy Funeral Home is in charge. Born Oct. 1, 1918, in Henry County, she was a daughter of the late James Alfred Caldwell and Beulah Clendenin Caldwell. She was married in 1939 to Gus Kendall, who preceded her in death. She later married Clarence Otey in 1967, who also preceded her in death. She was married in 1982 to Leroy P. Thrall, who also preceded her in death. Thrall taught school in Henry County, Nashville and Florida for 31 years. She was a member of Sulphur Well Church of Christ and Grace Communion International Church. She leaves a son: Robert C. “Pete” (Eileen) Kendall of Brandon, Fla.; one sister: Jane Woods of Gatlinburg; one brother: Mike Caldwell of Paris; five grandchildren: Katy (Jay) Gadsby, Wendy (Steve) Birket, Leah (Tadd) Stine, Robbie (Jolene) Kendall and John Adam “Jack” Kendall; and 10 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by two sisters: Frances Tidwell and Anne Collins; and two brothers: Joseph David Caldwell and Bill Caldwell. |
