Cottage Grove Mourns Death
of Beloved Young Matron
on Saturday

With Tender tributes from loving friends and relatives, Mrs. Irene Speight Pullen, 30, was buried at Walker Cemetery Sunday afternoon following rites held at the Cottage Grove Methodist Church by Rev. W. T. M. Jones and Prof. M. H. Alexander.

Mrs. Pullen died Saturday morning at a Paris Hospital, where she was brought a month ago from her home at Cottage Grove. Her death was attributed to heart disease.

The husband John Barton Pullen, popular Cottage Grove mail carrier, to whom she was married September 1, 1922, survives; the parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Speight of Cottage Grove; four small children, John Barton, Jr., 9, Marian 8, Corinne 5 and George Carlton, 11 months.

Mrs Pullen also leaves two brothers and one sister, Harold and Osie Bell Speight, and Miss Gerogia Speight, all of Cottage Grove. Another sister, Miss Grace Speight, died in April last year.

Born at Cottage Grove July 26, 1902, Mrs. Pullen spent her life in that community, where she was particulary loved and admired for many splendid traits of noble young womanhood. She graduated from Grove High School and was appreciably know in Paris. An earnest member of the Cottage Grove Methodist Church who was ardent in her church work and helpful in church and civic activities, being a leader in Parent Teacher accomplishments of her neighborhood. Sweetness and graciousness endowed her as a lovely Christian Character.

Among the large gathering of beraved friends and relatives at the funeral were numbers from Nashville, Martin, Colunbia, Lewisburg, Mayfield, Dresden and Paris. Pallbearers were Robert Hunt, Hal Bomar, Robert Snow, Boyee Dumas, Haywood Compton and Will Olds.
