Ernest Chesley 'Pete' Perry

Funeral services for Pete Perry, 41, of 1311 McFadden Street were scheduled for 10:30 a.m. today at McEvoy Funeral Home. W. W. Heflin and Mike Tune of East Wood Street Church of Christ were to officate and burial was to be in Rose Lawn Gardens.

Pallbearers were Charles Elkins, Jr., Paul Veazey, Bruce Collins, Kieth Hatcher and Jimmy Collins. Honorary pallbearers were Larry Sprague, Mark Sprague, Ricky Perry, Dale, Ronnie, Ricky and Randy Flood and Jimmy Perry and Mike Perry.

Perry, Easter Seal Chairman in Henry County for 10 years, died Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in Henry County General Hospital.

A member of CHAPS (Citizen Handicapped Aid Program Service) in Henry County, Perry was instrumental in getting the handicapped ramps and parking spaces in Paris.

Ernest Chesley 'Pete' Perry was born August 26, 1938, in Callaway County, Kentucky, the son of Paul R. and Marjories Collins Perry of Paris. He graduated in 1956 from Grove High School, where he was a member of the band and served as the drum major his senior year. An outstanding basketball player, he attended Union University on a basketball scholarship and also Murry State University. Perry operated a housecleaning service and was a member of the East Wood Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, he leaves two sisters, Mrs. Gerald 'Peggy' Hill of Brentwood and Mrs. Ken 'Teresa' Fridenstine of Paris; two nieces, Roxanne Fridenstine and Susan Hill; and two nephews, Scott and Tim Hill.
