| Former grocery store co-owner and
operator Mary Sue Fitch Medlock, 90, of Paris died Thursday, April 10,
2014, at Henry County Healthcare Center. Her funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Ridgeway Funeral Home. Malcolm Norton will officiate. Burial will be in Jones Chapel Cemetery. Chosen as pallbearers are Jimmy Keith VanDyke, Scott and Craig Jackson, Vince Medlock, Alan Penn and Gary Moon. Honorary pallbearers will be Dan Emerson, Phillip Jackson, Johnny Linsman, Dancil Taylor, Danny Williams and Bob and Wayne Medlock. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. today and after 11 a.m. Saturday. Born Sept. 15, 1923, in Springville, she was a daughter of the late Marvin and Pearl Wimberley Fitch. She was married on Jan. 11, 1953, to James Henry “J. H.” Medlock Jr., who died May 24, 2002. She was a member of Jones Chapel Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday school teacher. She and her husband co-owned and operated Medlock Grocery. Survivors are one daughter: Charlotte (Whitney) Curtis of Kenton; one grandchild: Susan (Alan) Penn of Kenton; and three stepgrandchildren: Richard and Whitney Curtis and Elizabeth Ann Bisceglia. Three sisters and a brother also preceded her in death. |
