Lowell Thomas "Jonah" Mckenzie ~ Obituary

Mobile home dealer and used car salesman Lowell Thomas “Jonah” McKenzie, 81, of Springville died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at Henry County Medical Center.

His wife, Janie Chandler McKenzie, survives. They were married Dec. 26, 1991.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at McEvoy Funeral Home.

Randy Stephens, preacher at Sulphur Well Church of Christ, where McKenzie was a member, will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery.

Named as pallbearers are Jason, Curt and Jesse Parker, Dale and Matthew Joyner and Mark Chandler.

Honorary pallbearers will be Lowell Brisendine and Mike Chandler.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m Tuesday and an hour before the service Wednesday.

Born Feb. 5, 1932, in Paris, he was a son of the late Raymond W. and Winnie Ruth Baker McKenzie.

In addition to selling mobile homes and used cars, McKenzie also worked at Holley carburetor plant. A family member said he was a wonderful husband, brother and family man.

He also leaves three sons: Tony (Tracy Matheny) Parker of Big Sandy, Curtis Parker of Puryear and Jason (Shannon) Parker of Springville; three sisters: Betty (Glenn) Brown of Henry, Shirley (Kenny) Mann of McKenzie and Bonnie McCall of Orlando, Fla.; seven grandchildren; four.
