Retired Salant & Salant factory payroll supervisor and homemaker Evelyn Comer Hill, 94, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2013 at Henry County Medical Center. A graveside service is planned at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Hillcrest Memorial Park, with Rob Martin of First United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be from noon until 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at McEvoy Funeral Home. Born Aug. 25, 1918, in Henry County, she was a daughter of the late John Isham Comer and Myrtle Bomar Comer. She was married on Feb. 14, 1953, to William “Pete” Cloys Hill, who died Sept. 26, 2000. Hill was a 1936 graduate of Grove High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Martha Chapter 155 Order of the Eastern Star, both in Paris. She leaves one son: William Cloys (Julie) Hill Jr. of Cordova; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and a special caregiver: Nellie Williams. Five sisters and four brothers also preceded her in death. |
