Edward Frank Gorman ~ Obituary

The funeral service for retired Golden Flake Potato Chip route supervisor Edward Frank Gorman of Paris was planned at 4 p.m. today at McEvoy Funeral Home.

Chester “Bro. C.” Harrison from First Baptist Church in Camden was to officiate. Burial was to follow in Maplewood Cemetery.

Named as pallbearers were Kevin Hoofman, Matt Abbott, Brian Elkins and Ryan Gorman.

Visitation was after 10 a.m. today until the service.

Gorman, 81, died Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.

Born Oct. 30, 1930, in Paris, he was the son of Joseph Gorman and Lorene Cates Shelley, now both deceased.

Gorman was a 40-year member of Grace Episcopal Church. He served 24 years in the Tennessee National Guard and was a member of VFW Post 1889. A family member said he was an avid fisherman and his favorite hobby was yard sales.

He leaves two sons: Randy (Patty) Gorman of Hermitage and Dennis Gregory Gorman of Naples, Fla.; two daughters: Shelley Jean (Randy) Hoofman of Paris and Marcia Coleman of Huntingdon; one sister: Jorene Gorman (Ed) McNeil of Paris; four grandchildren: Christi Abbott, Ryan Gorman, Brooke French and Kevin Hoofman; seven great-grandchildren; several special friends, including Wilma Underwood of Paris.

Memorials may be made to Henry County Medical Center Hospice, 311 E. Wood St., Paris.
