bookkeeper Elizabeth Deane “Betty” Gorman, 82, of Paris died Tuesday, Dec.
7, 2010, at Henry County Healthcare Center. Her funeral is scheduled at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, where she was a lifelong member. The Revs. Victor Ciaramitaro from Saint Michaels Catholic Church in Memphis and Edward Fisher from Holy Cross Catholic Church in Paris will officiate. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. Chosen as pallbearers are Charley Brown, Phil Wichlan, Dick Hartfelder, Ken Doal, Robert Gardner and Ted Neumann. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, with a rosary spoken at 7 p.m. at McEvoy’s. Born July 17, 1928, in Paris, she was a daughter of the late Thomas A. and Daisy Dean Gorman. She was a graduate of Toler’s Business College. She worked as a bookkeeper for Chrysler dealerships, Owens Motor Co., Owens-Cole Motor Co., Cole Motor Co. and Peppers Automotive, all in Paris. She leaves seven nephews: Don and Mike Huie, Gene Hill, James A., Joe and Dennis Gorman and Jim Peberdy; three nieces: Linda Prader, Ellen Jacobs and Patricia Wills; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. She also was preceded in death by five sisters: Daisy F. Huie, Grace Wheatley, Barbara Hill, Mary Theresa Foster and Ester Margaret Gorman; three brothers: James. A., Thomas V. and Edward G. Gorman; and one nephew, Tommy Huie. |
