and Wal-Mart employee Barbara Garner, 63, of Paris died Tuesday, April 8,
2014, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at McEvoy Funeral Home. Mike Wimberley, pastor of Olive Branch United Methodist Church, where Garner was a member, will officiate. Burial will be in Bevil Cemetery. Chosen as pallbearers are Ronnie Farmer, Kevin Hutson, Daryl Battles, David Pruitt and Jerome Boyd. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today and after 11 a.m. Thursday. Born January 22, 1951, in Paris, she was a daughter of the late James Oscar Sneed and Dorothy Mae Hutson Sneed. She was married on Jan. 7, 1983, to Charles A. Garner, who died January 7, 2014. Garner was very active at the Sanders Senior Citizens Center, according to a family member. She leaves one daughter: Jean (Joel) Taylor of Paris; one grandchild: Timothy Taylor of Paris; three aunts: Lula Mae Powell, Edith Taylor and Della Cole; and one uncle: Edward Sneed. Four aunts and four uncles also preceded her in death. |
