Aubrey J. Cox ~ Obituary

The funeral service for longtime Ellis Heating Company employee Aubrey J. Cox of Paris will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at McEvoy Funeral Home.

Robert Martin, pastor of First United Methodist Church, where Cox was a member, will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery.

Chosen as pallbearers are Bill and Rusty Culley, Andy Jackson, Emory Bradley, Brent Greer and Adam “Sonny Boy” Jackson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Green, Gordon Owen and members of the Paris Lions Club.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Saturday.

Cox, 91, died Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, at Plumley Rehabilitation Center.

His wife, Myree Smith Cox, survives. They were married on Dec. 11, 1946.

Born Jan. 2, 1922, in Dale, Okla., he was a son of the late W.J. and Lillie Byrd Cox.

A World War II U.S. Army veteran, Cox was a member of American Legion. He worked for Ellis Heating Co. for 58 years. He also was a member of the Paris Lions Club and a lifetime member of Good Sam's Camping Club.

He also leaves several nieces and nephews.

He also was preceded in death by two sisters: Clara Bow Neal and Shirley Faye Greene; and two brothers: Jessie and Tommy Cox.
