Richard Butler  "Dickie"  Carothers III, 69, of Henry County died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at his residence.

His wife, Carolyn M. “Chinny” Carothers, survives.

The body was cremated.

A private celebration-of-life service is planned later. McEvoy Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Born June 28, 1944, in Cincinnati, he was the son of Richard B. Carothers Jr. and Marjorie Davies Carothers, both now deceased.

He leaves two sons: Michael Carothers of Oregon and Christopher Carothers of Tennessee; and a sister: Ann C. Kowalsky of Texas.
