The recent Grove Centennial banquet I attended was well worth the trip. It was wonderful

I'm still thinking of the night of the Grove 100 year celebration. It was such a
great night. Just wish we would have
lots more of those to get together with old friends who mean so much to us and we haven't
seen in so long. To any
of the Class of 1964 who will be working on any reunions, I wanted to update any contact
information for you. I'm
delighted to tell you that we are back in God's country, good ole Tennessee. My
address is 3676 Hwy 78 N,
Dyersburg, TN 38024. My telephone number is 731-285-9762. Wish more of the
1964 bunch had been there but
it was a great delight to see the ones that we did, even from other classes. I go on
this site often to read the comments
from old Grove students. I feel so honored just to have gone to this special school
and to have studied (loosely stated)
under some of the very best teachers. Especially Miss Lamar Roberts. I love
you Miss Roberts and it was so wonderful
to see you again. And to Miss Carolyn Brisendine, thanks for getting my attention.
You were so special to me and you
still are in my memory of being your first class. To all the rest, you know who you
are.

Watching film, Butch and Sundance: The Early Years (released in 1979), starring Tom
berenger and William Katt,
there is a huge building (stable probably) with a gigantic ad for Grove's Chill
Tonic--guaranteed to make children fat as pigs.
Has a pig's body with the child's head from Grove ads.

I enjoyed Grove and the buildings that surrounded it long after my father walked the
halls. Like my father I too had band class
in the basement of Cavitt Hall-I think I remember that correctly,and instead of Bill
Crosswy we had Martin Paschall. I also
marched down the hill to Jr. High games and learned to play the Notre Dame Victory March
traditional style on my preferred
instrument: the snare drum. The times may have changed but the feeling will always remain
the same.

dedication of the restored Tower Building.
